Today, I'm going to focus on Google Apps.
There are a whole bunch of Google Apps {all FREE} -I'm going to focus on the ones I use.
First up, the all important GMail.
This comes in very handy, since my district uses gmail, as well as having a personal account through gmail.
And they couldn't have made it any easier to switch between the two!
All I have to do is tap the little person icon on the side, and it will switch easily back and forth.
It saves me a ton of time, rather than trying to log out of everything, check my work email, and then log back into everything.
Next up is:
Drive. This is the easiest way for me to store, view and share files.
Plus, they now have two ways to view your files!
Images
or a list.
It's also super easy to switch back and forth with this one as well-just go to settings and you can flip flop like gmail.
Of course, along with Drive, you need
Sheets-I use this for checklists and status of the class
and
Docs- I use this a lot with my next app!
I don't have Slides-I figure if I'm going to create something like that, I'll want access to all my fonts and clipart :)
I also have
Google Classroom, which I've blogged about before. I use docs a lot with this, making comments on the kids work. Classroom has its own folder on Drive.
The app isn't as good as using a computer-it seems like it would fit better with students rather than a teacher.
I can't add assignments from the app, but I can add announcements (and so can the kids), and I can look at their work (probably because it is in a folder on my Drive.).
Those are the Google Apps I use! Of course, they're all available (and somewhat easier to use) on the computer, but if I'm bouncing from place to place, I like the portability.
Smiles and Sunshine,
Kaitlyn
