Winner! and Today

Congrats to Kelly for winning my 150 follower giveaway! Your giftcard should be arriving in your email shortly :)

Today went really well! The kids did their rotations today with hardly any intervention from me, which is GREAT for when I start taking Guided Reading groups. I think that I am going to add in a handwriting rotation (to practice their cursive), for them to do right before Read to Self, but I won't be making new bookmarks...it'll just be on the board :)

We also took the Reading NWEA/ MAPs today. They did such a great job! I was really impressed with their scores and hope that they can continue! We take the Math one tomorrow. Hopefully all my kiddos will be in, I had 3 out yesterday, 2 out today (and 1 sagging at the end of the day).

I give the end of theme test tomorrow...and we'll see how they do. I'm hopeful they'll do well. We'll see. I hope your week is going as well as mine! :)

Today's outfit:

Gray Sweater & Pants: JC Penny
Teal Sweater: Maurices
Tank: Target
Shoes: DSW

I did actually keep the gray sweater on for most of the day...it was cold up here! (It still is!)  Fall/Winter will take some getting used to!

This Week in 4th Grade...and a Giveaway!

Hello Peeps!

I hope you all have had a wonderful week in school. We worked really hard this week, learning about our state government, shapes, angles and graphing, how to work through our centers during Literacy block, as well as practicing our listening skills. Take a look:

For our Social Studies, we have been talking about the three branches of the government and their jobs/roles and responsibilities. I am using Buzzing with Ms B's Government Pack for this...it's an awesome resource for 3-5!

I switched this from US Government to our State Government...but sorry! you can't see!

We have also been reviewing Shapes and Angles...My kids did an AWESOME job with the angles...they knew them all!

When I made this last year, I did it with triangles...so I covered them up for this year!

We also started our Reading Rotations! They've been doing a fairly good job with it...On Wednesday I timed the rotations and walked them through it, and today and yesterday I told them to move on once they finished one...it went pretty well!
These are our Rotation Bookmarks...they will have them for a week and rotate through every day. I doubled up on the EEKK Reading to make sure I had enough friends to EEKK Read :) Read to Self is last, so if they haven't finished any work from previous days, or if it takes them a really long time, they are not missing any critical assignments.

On Monday, I noticed that I had surpassed 150 followers! Therefore, a giveaway! The Prize: a $15 giftcard to Amazon. Time frame: From tonight to Tuesday Night. I'll pull a winner Tuesday/Wednesday and announce it then. Good Luck!

Sharing Giveaways and Oops

I had something different in mind for today, but well....this happened:

That's my car :( I was looking for a parking spot to meet my friend for lunch and I got into an accident, so my car is currently sitting at a closed collision center, waiting for Monday for it to hopefully open so they can fix it. I'm fine, and the other person is fine (since we were going like 5 mph), but I'm without a car for a little bit...unless my mom lets me borrow hers.

Enough Gloomy Gusing! I've seen some really cool giveaways around that I want to share with you.

Monday Made It

Hello Bloggy Friends! Don't forget to enter my End of School Year Celebration Giveaway here. My sister graduated from high school yesterday, and we had a day filled with family and celebration. Tomorrow or Wednesday, I'll catch up on some outfit posts :) (Tomorrow I go and sign all the paperwork for my new job, and check out the area to find out where I want to live, which could possibly take all day. I'm also hoping to stop by my new school and check it out and hopefully unload some stuff!)

Now, for the regularly scheduled part of Mondays...Tara's Monday Made It.

Now, these are still a work in progress, but I just need to glue everything down. This Monday I am working on....Math File Folder games! My early finishers can always use more practice with their math and reading skills, and most of these math games are ones that can be played by themselves or with 1 other friend. I got the games from this book:
Here are some of the games I have made so far...

Gopher Golf: Students practice mixed computational skills (addition and subtraction) by chasing the gopher from hole to hole solving the problems.

Creepy Crawly Fractions: Students practice their fraction equivalents. Students spin the spinner and have to move their crawly to the crawly that has the nearest equivalent fraction to what they spun.

Reminder Raccoon: Students practice dividing numbers with reminders. You move one space each time and spin the spinner to find out what number you are going to divide by.

Linkopolis: Students use logical thinking, and graphing to link all the landmarks together. However, one road can't cross another, roads can't pass through landmarks, and no landmark can have more than 3 roads going to/from it! (Think the dot box game)

Don't forget to enter my giveaway!
